Ok i recently bought SC4 as im hook on it after playing the GF's boy so much and am using it to best my skills so i can beat him more often (He plays the game prictialy every day) so i decide to go online and fight the other humans as AI can only go so far. Now (rant starting) for those who know the game they know who kilik is for those who dont he's a game character who weilds a massive staff weapon and can attack quickly(possibly one of the fastest attackers in the game) now combine this with the range of the weapon, the fact that his attacks are simple 1 or 2 buttons pressed repeatedly and the fact his max combo for 1 basic attack is like 5-8 hits means he is extreamly hard to beat with any other character bar himself. Using kilik earns you the immediate title of "Kilik noob" and if you play anyone who use's him you know why as they stick to the same 2-4 moves that make it hard to defend and impossible to attack unless you have a character that can teleport like cervantes, youshimitsu, or algol. but even at that these moves take time and space to do which you cant gain against kilik and his range as he can cover a quarter of most arena's with it. And before you say just use kilik i will state i REFUSE POINT BLANK to play as him lest i become one of those kilik noobs who gain easy victorys by cheap methods. More rants to come
Was soul calibur 4 on the PS2 and you could make your own character with conquest mode or was that SC3? idno... if 4 is the one on the xbox I didn't get to play it much because my niece stepped on my console when it was playing and destroyed the disk, but in every SC game that had Kilik(and soul blade on the PS1 which was seung Mina i beleive or something like that) the staff fighters are too ****ing fast...so yes, I feel your pain. thats why I stopped playing platform fighters, cause in every game theres the rediculously overpowered guy that everyone uses. it was subzero with magical ill freeze you when your blocking **** on mortal kombat even, or scorpion players who somehow were always able to evade your block with his grapple thing by a fraction of a second, it's bull****.

its on the ps3 and 360 and they still allow you to make your own characters with the exception of the star wars characters styles. and yes these staff fighters are way to fast and need to have something done to balance there character out. A good example of this is the star wars characters who have a limited force bar and youshimitsu who can do a fast five hit combo that one done he falls to the ground dizzy and for the moment after it undefendable (He spins rapidly to do the attack). Oh i remember that attack never played much against friends thou but that ice blast you could do nothing against unless you where riaden(sp) but even that was a 50/50 chance. Ok next rant is on cervantes players who only know his jumping teleport attack and do it repeatedly with the only way to stop it to hit the player as there coming down on top of you or if you know asteroths move well to grapple them mid air. Third rant on asteroth if never seen a character with a grab for every ocation wether your laying on the (part 1)
floor face down or falling from the sky. on the floor he can smash his weapon into you, pick you up and throw you across the ring (sometimes its is actually half the ring) or if hes took you off your feet and spining mid air a foot from it he can grapple and basically slap you with his weapon repeatedly or his high altitued grab (which if your a character that can go airborn/fly he can do without throwing you) he can grapple and piledrive you into the ground. In honesty cervantes and asteroth are diverse characters that most stand a fiar chance of winning against unlike the oversized stick user who i shall not mention as my blood may boil. more rants to come, most likely will involve COD or MAG or something along those lines till then enjoy and feel free to rant as its good to let it all out
COD? you mean Call of failing Modern Camper 2? Yeah...im a level 40 9th prestige and the more I play the more percentage of campers I find...and all the pre pubescent keyboard commando scrubs from CODMC2 have moved onto Halo Reach now, so Halo 3 used to at least have no campers, but no, now Halo Reach is invaded by 11 year old bitches who only know how to sit in corners with shotguns and energy swords >_

The current pet hate for me on COD is the boosters. Had one a day ago (kid must of been about 13 or something from his voice) so i see his friend running round the corner on afgan heading for the sniper spot up on the cliff, i know one of my guys are there as i put up the map every so often to look for gun shots. So as i round the corner behind him i fire a shotgun blast into his back while his friend (in a high pitched girly voice) shouts "Dont kill him hes helping our team" so me and one other guy start to "Tag along" With our new booster friend to deny him or his pal in the other team getting there nuke. All the time through he's spew about how we shouldn't tell him how to play the game and that me and my new friend are boosters (as i have the spinny nuke emblem on my profile) and i think my friend had the first title you get for 2 nukes. he said we work to hard at it to get them but its little noobs like him how give us that earned nukes fairly a bad name. so yes now in games theres no honor.
lol yeah theres a good number of campers out there. Oh and Keisht beware tree snipers on waste land lol saw a guy halfway up one last night lol. Best fail at COFMC2 was a guy who fired a javlin at a harrier and the missle curved round and under it and made a V-line straight back to the guy who fired it lol (vids on utube) you botting on your runes of magic account?! shame on you lol jk
I don't ever cheat, I don't even use skulls in Halo Reach or Halo 2-3(except grunt birthday party, which doesn't effect the damage or anything)
And yeah, They don't have that glitch on wasteland on the xbox360 unless its the tree in the spawn with the helicopter, that's the only tree you can get in..I like how on FUEL the new DLC map there's a rock you can walk right into and you cant even kill the guy inside if you land a predator missile on the rock, you have to spray and pray into the rock to kill him, and it would be a 2 min fix for infinity ward to put an invisible wall where you walk in, but NOOOOOO because infinity ward don't give a **** about their games, they just want money. maps been out for at least 2 months and no fix? Bungie would fix that next day, They have on halo 3

Infinaty ward HAVE admitted there only in it for the money and plan to make The mw into a constant release thing cant remember the actual name they said. you know theres another glitch dont know it they fixed it but on underpass or overpass the pillers next to the hut theres a glitch there that you can place a sentry gun in them which means it can only be shot out. If it was trayark(SP) it would of been patched before it was ever released infinaty are exremely sloppy with there work like even thou they patched the cold blooded glitch if the pave lows shot down with bullets after taking a few rocket hit it still spins out allowing you to glich your cold blooded straight to pro or even complete it altogether
OK this isn't a rant but its creppy ****. this morning as me and a friend where coming home from the club in our local town we normally walk home as its only like 2-3 miles and it allows us to sobber up a little. So we got into our village and both of us walked towards my house thou my friend could of just headed to his as he lives in the other half of the village. So we where like 200 yards from my house at about just after 4am and this ancent ford fiesta goes past us and slows right down to a crawl and stays about 8 feet infront of us on the road as we walk. The guy who we think had a bit of african in his turned slowly at the corner that we would take to get t my house and drove very slowly back up the other side of the street looking at us (we never got a good look but he looked african) then turned again and stopped this time at the newly built flats. It was creepy as **** and i know if i was myself something probably would of happened
SC4 was...crap in a bottle. I was spoiled with the 3rd one, I liked the actual STORY in my oh I dunno STORY MODE?!
As well as I liked the cool character creation and the war. :) I bought SC4, played it a few times, gave it back for points on my card. God, there was just nothing good.

Yeah, Soul Calibur 4 was a disappointment. I bought 2 for gamecube because of Link, but found it completely awesome. Weapon Master Mode was the best-- a massive quest, dozens and dozens of unique battles, a developing story, the Labyrinths, and the ability to buy more weapons was stunning. It was my first fighting game, save for the Super Smash Bros. series.
Then I played SCIII. No Link this time, but I was sucked in just as deep, by the interesting story paths, multiple endings, Create-A-Character mode... and if you know me, you know I LOVE creating characters, hence me being on this site. Well, SCIII was perfect for me. And Chronicles of the Sword was exactly what I wanted in a strategy mode-- just blisteringly difficult.
Then I got SCIV, my first title for the PS3. The "Story Mode" was five fights with no background, and then a fight with a boss. Or however many. No story, no interesting paths, no strategy, no interesting battles. Just a pile of crap. I play Street Fighter now.
Darth Vader is the ONLY reason to buy that game. Woe to you if you had the XBOX version.
no no i have the ps3 version BUT they released a contence pack where you could buy darth vader (if you owned the xbox) or the ever annoying yoda(if you owned the ps3) ((he is a pain in the ass as you CAN NOT grab him with ANY grapple attach)). i remember playing sc2 and agree with you that it had some awsome game modes.
I still prefer Soul Calibur and Soul Edge, the two games BEFORE they decided "hm... lets take Hwang out of the story and replace him with some whiny kid! and lets not make Mina as cute as she was in the last few games!" that and they made Mina a dammed optional character and took away some of her best moves and gave em to Kilik. not to mention if you ever have a SCI one pic of Mina's face the you compare it to Xianguia, they gave her damn face to Xianguia in SCII! what the hell!
sorry i was a big fan of the first two games, played em all the time. then the altered one of my favorite characters. (honestly Mina was the character that inspired me to draw and to write... fanfics anyway ^^; )

That was amazing. The Chronicles of the Sword. Honestly there's about a handful of games that I have that make me want to buy a PS2 again and SC3 is completely up there. There's a few people who say that 3 was not as well made as 4 but I disagree completely.
I also enjoyed fact there was a store in 3. <3 Those shop ladys were hawt.

Yeah, they kind of were. I mean, there was a whole lot of cosmetic cap in the shops, expensive, too, but it was more interesting. Better than 4 you can't create a custom outfit without the guy having 70% defense or 110% Offense or extra throw damage or some crap.
You know what 4 had? Nice graphics, and clothing damage. I give not a **** for either.
Why do we make 5 sequels to a fighting game that is well enough the way it is? There is only one answer: Money.

Not really. I'm very glad that they've poured so much work into the sequels and series-- and judging by the artful costume designs, the incredibly long one player modes in a FIGHTING game, and most interesting for me, the varied and precise details about the background of each and every weapon presented, I'd say they're doing them for more than just the money.
EXCEPT FOR SCIV. Nothing I just said applies to that one. Star Wars characters don't even fit the setting.
Games these days are on an eye vs brain scale. Most games that sell lean further towards eye, and not brain so much. I honestly could care less how nice it looks, if it does little to challenge my brain I lose interest quickly. But then, I still think most of my old snes and genesis games are better then the boring eye candy they spit out these days.

That I agree on. And there are plans for a Soul Calibur V. By plans, I mean they've released a whole lot of official art and renders, so it's probably finished right now. Game takes place 17 years after the last few games. The period of Soul Calibur II to IV, by the way, spans like a couple months.
