hello :) I don't know if there might actually already be something like this on this site but I didn't find it yet so... here is my suggestion: As I find it hard to find the kind of character I am searching for, because everyone has so many characters, I would appreciate a "character list", where all characters available are listed with basic keywords (e.g: "Jordan, 23, male, master, straight, human") so you don't have to search every single character topic to find a suitable partner. As there already are many characters I would offer myself to create such a list and send it to an admin or mod to maintain it, in case this suggestion finds its fans ;)
I dont think it is that difficult to track down active peoples characters. The current system is functional, and I would vote against up-heaving it for something thats never been a problem in the past.
Honestly, the person your roleplaying with is more important then the characters they have listed. If you want to find someone who suites your style, try talking with people. Ask them about themselves. Maybe post a roleplay idea or two and see who that draws to you. Work within the system before trying to change it.

I agree with Maliace here. Especially in cases with people who roleplay heavily, it's much more important who your partner is, thus what kind of roleplay experience you get, than who the characters are. Like, I know how Kinky Kitten will react because I RP with her so often, so I present an idea to her, we work it out, and THEN we invent the characters. My characters, even the premade ones, reflect my own personality in many different ways, and if you don't like my characters, me creating another one probably won't make you want to RP with me, in general. There are exceptions, of course, but the key to having the most fun in roleplays, I find, is to find a partner whose style meshes well with your own, so that you compliment each other and make an enjoyable experience.
I'm sorry if some people here got the impression that I wanted to replace a system or something like that. It was just an idea that popped up in my head, which I knew from other sites and I thought it would not harm to suggest it. I was never trying to offend anyone with my laziness ;) If you find this idea is not necessary it's fine with me, after all, that's what suggestions are for: not to be taken to action immediately but to talk about them and find out if they result in a pleasant change or are not needed.
Everyone has their own way of developing characters/stories and 'relationships' with each other as literate role players. Now it is true a master list of characters would be helpful to have, it has been pushed that each individual role player maintains their list of characters in their own thread. Something I am considering is reducing the number of subforums (Combine master/mistress threads) and others to reduce where people have to look and read. How would people take to this idea?
Silver. I would assault you with a rusty spork, stab your unborn child in the face with it, and then dance upon both of your corpses. Then I would tell you I'd take this idea quite well. :) By the way - morbid and dark sense of humor.

Sushi, don't play games. She asked nicely and it isn't that terrible of a request to edit yourself just a little in that one category that is probably sensitive to her in a way you'd never understand. Play nice.
Don't think I can't read sarcasm either. Plus, it is like blood and Maliace is the shark that smells it, it is a dead give away.
